File Restore

Effective Date: October 3, 2026

Last Updated: October 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how File Restore ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application.

File Restore provides tools designed to help users scan, locate, manage, and recover supported files and media available on their device.

Important: File Restore does not guarantee that deleted or lost files can always be recovered. Recovery availability depends on factors such as the device, Android version, storage state, file availability, and whether data has been overwritten.

1. Information We Access

Depending on the features you use and permissions you grant, File Restore may access certain information stored on your device.

Photos and Images

The App may access photos and images to scan, display, manage, or recover supported image files.

Videos

The App may access video files to provide video scanning, management, and recovery functionality.

Audio Files

The App may access audio files when you use audio scanning or recovery features.

Documents and Files

The App may access files and documents that you select or that Android allows the App to access for scanning, management, and recovery purposes.

Contacts

If the Contacts Recovery feature is available and you choose to use it, the App may request permission to access contacts stored on your device. Contact access is used only to provide the requested contact-related functionality.

Messages

If a message-related recovery feature is supported on your device, the App may request the permissions necessary to provide that functionality. Such access is subject to Android and Google Play restrictions.

Storage Information

File Restore may inspect information about accessible device storage, such as file types, file locations, file sizes, and storage usage, when necessary to provide scanning, cleanup, management, or recovery functionality.

2. Device Permissions

Depending on your Android version and the features you use, File Restore may request permissions such as:

Permissions are requested only when required for relevant functionality. You can deny or revoke permissions through your device settings. Some features may not function if the required permission is denied.

3. File Scanning and Recovery

File Restore may scan storage locations that the Android operating system allows the App to access. Scanning may identify supported photos, videos, audio files, documents, and other recoverable or manageable files.

File scanning and recovery operations are intended to be performed for functionality requested by the user.

4. Disk Image Recovery

If you use the Disk Image Recovery feature, File Restore may analyze a disk image or storage image selected by you to identify supported file-system structures and recoverable files.

The App may use open-source file-system analysis technology for this functionality. Processing capabilities depend on the file, file system, device resources, and operating-system restrictions.

5. Screenshot and Junk File Features

The App may analyze accessible files to identify screenshots, temporary files, duplicate or unnecessary files, or other content that may be eligible for cleanup.

Files should only be deleted after user confirmation where required by the operating system. Users are responsible for reviewing files before permanently deleting them.

6. Advertising

File Restore may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob.

Advertising providers may collect or process certain information, including device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from network information, ad interactions, and diagnostic information, subject to their own privacy policies and applicable consent requirements.

7. Third-Party Services

File Restore may use third-party services for features such as advertising, analytics, crash reporting, and app performance. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Third-party services may include Google services such as Google Play services, Google AdMob, Firebase, or related services when they are integrated into the App.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell users' personal files or personal information. Information may be processed or shared with service providers only when necessary to operate features integrated into the App, comply with legal obligations, protect users, prevent abuse, or provide services requested by the user.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. However, no application, device, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Data Retention

Files scanned locally for recovery or management are not intended to be retained by us unless a particular feature clearly requires remote processing or storage and this is disclosed to the user.

Third-party services integrated into the App may retain certain technical, advertising, analytics, or diagnostic information according to their respective policies.

11. Children's Privacy

File Restore is not specifically directed toward children under the age required for independent consent in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

12. Your Choices

You can control many privacy-related features through Android settings. You may revoke permissions, manage advertising/privacy settings, or uninstall the App at any time.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, applicable laws, or third-party services change. Updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
