WEPORA FILES

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wepora we handles information when you use Wepora Files, our Android file management application (package name: com.wepora.wepora_files).

At a glance: File management takes place on your device. You can choose to share files with other apps or devices. The app also displays Google AdMob ads, which involve collection and sharing of certain device and usage information by Google.

1. Information used by the app

Wepora Files does not require a Wepora account and does not provide automatic cloud backup of your files. Its file management features do not automatically upload your file contents to Wepora servers.

2. Permissions and device access

You can change storage permissions in Android Settings or revoke granted folder access through the available system controls. Features that depend on that access may stop working. The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, or precise-location permissions.

3. Advertising and Google AdMob

Wepora Files uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display banner ads. Google may collect and share information including your IP address, device and advertising identifiers, app interactions, and diagnostic or performance information to deliver and measure ads, analyze performance, and prevent fraud. An IP address may be used to infer an approximate location.

Ad personalization and the information processed depend on Google's settings, device controls, applicable consent requirements, and ad configuration. Wepora does not supply your file contents, file listings, or installed-app inventory to AdMob as advertising inputs. The app does not include a separate Firebase Analytics integration; advertising SDKs nevertheless process their own measurement information.

You can manage or delete/reset your advertising ID using the controls available in Android Settings. The exact options vary by Android version. These controls do not necessarily stop all advertising or all SDK data processing.

Read Google's Privacy Policy, Google's advertising information, and Google Mobile Ads data disclosures for further details.

4. File sharing and network servers

When you use Android's share or open-with actions, the files you select are made available to the receiving app or recipient. Their handling of those files is governed by their own practices.

If you start the optional FTP or HTTP server, devices that can reach your phone's server address may access the configured shared folder, subject to your authentication and read-only settings. Depending on configuration, clients can browse or download files and may upload, modify, or delete them. The app supports anonymous access; the HTTP server initially allows anonymous access unless you change the setting.

These servers run on your device without a Wepora relay service. They listen on available network interfaces and are not technically restricted to trusted devices. The current FTP and HTTP connections are not encrypted with TLS: file contents and credentials can be exposed to others able to observe the connection. Use trusted networks, change default credentials, disable anonymous access where appropriate, restrict the shared folder, and stop the server when finished. Copies received by others are outside your control.

5. Retention and deletion

Local settings and saved references remain until you remove them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Temporary previews and cache may be removed by the cleaner, Android, or uninstalling the app. Clearing app storage also removes saved configuration and trash records.

Your original files, exported APK backups, files copied to other devices, and files in shared storage are not generally deleted by uninstalling Wepora Files. Items moved to app trash are stored in a .wepora-trash folder in the relevant shared storage and remain until restored or permanently deleted. Empty the trash before clearing app data or uninstalling if you want those files removed; losing trash records can affect in-app restoration.

Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and related follow-up, or to meet applicable legal obligations. You may email us to request deletion. Google's retention and deletion practices apply to information Google processes through AdMob; uninstalling this app does not itself delete information already held by Google.

6. Security

Local app settings and cache use Android's application storage protections, while shared files remain subject to their storage location and permissions. Google states that data collected by its Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. This protection does not apply to the app's unencrypted FTP and HTTP file transfers described above. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices and privacy requests

You can revoke storage access, remove favorites, delete files or empty app trash, clear local app data, stop network servers, manage Android advertising controls, or uninstall the app. There is no Wepora account to delete.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us about information we hold, such as support correspondence. For information processed by Google, use the controls and request mechanisms in Google's Privacy Policy. We may need to verify a request before responding.

8. Children's privacy

Wepora Files is a general-purpose file manager. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through support communications. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and address it. Advertising-related processing is described in Section 3.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The updated policy will show a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
